Short End of the Stick

The pugs love crawling into Kevin's lap when he's sitting in his favorite recliner (it's favorite by default, we only have one recliner).

Rikki quickly took advantage the other day, managing to look like a rolled up cinnamon bun.

Pictures like this make me think that Kevin would be a good dad (to a human)

But wait? See that in the back left, behind Rikki?

Yep, it's Bunni. The pug that made it to Kevin's lap first, only to be rudely squashed by her sister.

Oddly, she looks somewhat peaceful.

That, or she's pleading with me, using only her eyes, to free her from this vice grip?

Or, I suppose, she just looks resigned.

  2. Ha. This reminds me of Boomer, who is currently curled up with her nose buried underneath herself. I love pups :)

  4. How about we trade for a week? I'll give you two probably-pug-sized cats, and you give me two pugs. What a deal! Hmm, no? Guess I'll just have to come visit Bunni & Rikki. :D

  5. Those photos are adorable!! This is probably a super lame question (I have 2 1/2 sibling cats and CANNOT get when people can't tell them apart) but how in the world do you tell Rikki and Bunni apart? I've tried looking at nose colors, facial wrinkles, size, but I'm apparently an idiot, and I can't figure it out!

  6. LOL. Sometimes our beagle will just go over and sit on our other dog. On her back, face, whatever. She rarely puts up a fuss though, so we just laugh. Puppies are so sillies.

  7. sashacelo: bunni would love that

kate" i agree. pups are the best.

darwinda: yes, i think she actually finds it quite cozy!

notesfromthebench: bunni & rikki would love to meet a new friend!

kelly: not a lame question. i myself get them confused sometime. if you see them in person, rikki is smaller than bunni, and also has a curlier tail. but those differences can be difficult to discern when they're curled up tightly like potato bugs.

maylove: it's so funny how they do that, right? is it affection or dominance? we will never know.

  8. Maybe, just maybe, she is exhausted from the struggle to try and release herself. Yup. That's it.

  9. Haha, I love the "pleading with her eyes line." that was wonderful. And, I think Sean would be a good dad when he holds our dogs too. You know, because babies and dogs are totally the same. :)

  10. Bunni looks happy and cozy. I want to snuggle up to a pug. After taking some Benadryl.

  11. Aww! Too cute! One of my dogs is just like Rikki, totally bitchy and overbearing if he doesn't get all the attention! Ahh, dogs, gotta love them!
